In  this novel, Featherstone approaches lightly with words,  oresent them in a deeply emotive sparse format. The book isn’t just a standard war experience story. War is an overriding theme, but often at times, it is offset by the power of bonds, responsibilities, morality, acceptance and love. By carefully research into the war period and putting his effort into a story, Nigel Featherstone achieved a lot in breaking down some barriers through trust and love. And hopefully that kind of love will resonance with the readers.
